The Compliance department is acting as the second line of defence providing risk-assessment based advise, assurance and awareness services to the business units and management of Luminor Group in the area of compliance risk management. Being part of the panBaltic Compliance organisation, the Compliance department in Latvia is tasked with becoming a panBaltic centre of competence in the area of Consumer protection, Conflicts of interest, Anti-corruption, Internal governance and Third party risk management supporting Compliance teams in Lithuania and Estonia in the above area of expertise.

The Compliance Officer within the Compliance department is involved in variety of Compliance tasks aimed at providing advice, assurance and building awareness of the business units and management across a broad range of compliance related topics.  Working in the team together with Senior Compliance Officer and/or Regulatory Expert, the Compliance Officer will be responsible for selected areas of larger engagements as well as take direct responsibility for the analysis, testing and monitoring of business processes and procedures exposed to the compliance risk. The successful candidate is expected to show intellectual curiosity, persistence, openness and courage to achieve the objectives and contribute to the development of advanced Compliance function.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participating in the annual risk assessment and implementation of the resulting annual compliance action plan;
  • Participating in the relevant regulatory and business development projects to assure compliance requirements are addressed;
  • Supporting Senior Compliance Officers and Regulatory Expert in advisory, guidance and trainings with respect to the laws and regulations applying to the business activities;
  • Testing the processes and areas with the highest compliance risk;
  • Following-up on the implementation of compliance recommendations

Requirements for the position:

  • University degree in law, economics, finance management or similar (banking specialisation is an advantage);
  • Min. 1 year of work experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, internal audit or similar is an advantage;
  • Practical experience of working in the financial institution is a strong advantage, especially in the area of Markets and Investment products;
  • High ethical standards, integrity and commitment to best practices;
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written;
  • Full working proficiency in English is required.
